LASR History!
Started in 1974 by Marv Wiens with a newspaper ad wanting people who had street rods to start a club. They met at Holmes Lake in Lincoln, NE. Most of the first members had T-buckets, and this was a chance for people with a common interest to share their ideas and expertise in helping other members build or work on their cars.
Several years later in 1977 the Lincoln Area Street Rods hosted their first rod run, and 3 years later in 1980 their event was expanded into the new NSRA Mini-Nationals. Now for over 30 years Lincoln Area Street Rods has been holding events and shows known as the Star City Rod and Custom weekend, bringing Lincoln some of the finest cars from near and far to show off.
The club is still about people sharing their ideas and common interests in cars, helping with building, hosting garage scenes, and putting on one of Lincoln's finest car shows.
